Club Colombia Dorada is the flagship premium German Helles-style/American lager brewed by Cervecería Bavaria in Bogotá, Colombia. First introduced in 1949 under the name Club Sesenta to commemorate Bavaria's 60th anniversary, it was renamed Club Colombia in 1962. It stands as one of the country's most iconic and highly regarded commercial beers, recognized internationally with multiple gold medals from the Monde Selection in Belgium.
Beer Profile & Specifications

  • ABV (Alcohol by Volume): 4.7%
  • Bitterness: 18–20 IBU (International Bitterness Units)
  • Ingredients: Brewed with water, premium Pilsen and Pale malts, caramel malt (which provides its rich golden hue), and classic Saaz and Willamette hops.
  • Appearance: Bright, translucent golden-yellow body with a white, effervescent head.
Tasting Notes & Character

  • Aroma: A clean, welcoming bouquet of bready, toasted grains and soft cereal malts, accented by a subtle hint of lemon and floral hops.
  • Flavor: Crisp, smooth, and highly refreshing. It balanced a mild honey-like malt sweetness with a gentle citrus brightness and a faint caramel undertone.
  • Finish: Crisp, sharp carbonation with a slightly bitter, dry finish that cleanses the palate. It offers a heavier body and more distinct character than watery macro lagers.
Serving & Food Pairings

  • Serving Style: Serve ice-cold in its bottle or poured into a pilsner glass. It is highly versatile and works perfectly as a base for a Michelada (lime juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire, and a salted rim) or a crisp summer Shandy mixed with lemonade.
  • Food Pairings: Complements Latin American cuisine excellently. It pairs beautifully with fried empanadas (cutting through the dough), grilled meats, poultry, seafood, light salads, and semi-aged cheeses.
