THE ART OF CLASSIQUE

The 2022 Classique Pinot Gris captures the essence of our Willamette Valley vineyards, sourced from Lange Estate, Yamhill, and Tukwilla. Fermented in a combination of neutral French oak puncheons and stainless steel, this wine reflects Lange Estate Winery’s commitment to crafting clean, expressive, cool-climate whites with both elegance and approachability.

TASTING NOTES

Aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, lemon drop, marzipan, and white flowers greet the nose. On the palate, bright orchard fruit and melon are accentuated by zesty citrus, fresh herbs, and mineral undertones. Sleek and silky in body, the wine carries bracing acidity that lifts the flavors, finishing with orchard fruit, lime, and wet stone.

ACCOLADES

92 Points | International Wine Report
“The 2022 Classique Pinot Gris from Lange is much like its sibling, the Reserve, but a tad lighter and softer on the palate. In the glass, it gifts a light lemon core with a watery rim and boisterous notes of freshly sliced honey-coated white pear, honeycomb wax, green melon, and white linen tones. It goes down easy and refreshing with a yummy pear and herbal finish. 2023–2026.” —Jeremy Young

    91 Points | Wine Enthusiast
“This lighter-bodied, ethereal take on Pinot Gris has highly floral aromas of gardenias and lemon-scented Sweet Bay magnolia flowers, followed by notes of cantaloupe and lime zest. Honeydew melon, orange sorbet, and pistachio flavors abound. A clean, crisp texture with nice acidity.” —Michael Alberty

    91 Points | Owen Bargreen
“The outstanding 2022 Lange ‘Classique’ Pinot Gris offers bright starfruit notes that combine with salted peanut, baking spices, and melon accents on the palate. With plenty of mouth-watering acidity, this would be an awesome match for Thai fare. Drink 2023–2028.” —Owen Bargreen

92 Points 'Critic’s Choice' | Northwest Wine Report
“Lange consistently produces exceptional Pinot Gris. The aromas are exuberant, with notes of yellow apple, star fruit, peach, and whole kiwi. The palate is rich, textured, and loaded with fruit flavors while remaining poised and balanced throughout. The acid propels it forward, keeping the exuberant fruit in vivid focus. 13.2% alcohol. 8,100 cases produced. Screwcap.”
